Why does no one ever talk about rape victims and PTSD? Up until this Abnormal Psychology class, I’ve always been told that Combat was the major contributor to PTSD but damn, it’s 20% less than Rape. So please don’t tell rape victims to “get over it” or “its already over, it can’t change” because over 60% of rape victims have had their brain chemistry changed; PTSD is a mental disorder whether it is because of combat or because of rape.

This is SO incredibly important, you guys.

In all my life I will never find the words to express exactly how I feel about the absolutely heinous nature of rape and I will never stop being horrified that a lot of people don’t understand how terrible it is, but this graph might be a start.

Before I get into it, just know the pictures just serve as visual representations, not actual pictures

Okay so anyway, evidence for this theory is the following:

THE FACT THAT HUMANS ARE SO HAIRLESS:

Only two kind of habitats give rise to hairless animals, an aquatic one and a one below the ground (a naked mole rat for example)

.The suggestion that humans have become hairless to prevent overheating has been rendered false because hair can act like a defense against the sun.

This is why camels retain their fur even in the hot dessert environment.

OUR FAT CELLS

We have ten times the number of fat cells as expected in an animal our size. Only two types of animals have large fat cells: hibernating and aquatic ones.

In hibernating it’s seasonal fat, but in aquatic it’s all year round. It’s unreasonable to think that we evolved this feature in land because large fat pockets would have just slowed us down.

Primate babies are always born slender, but human babies start to develop fat even before birth.

WALKING ON TWO LEGS

So we’re the only mammals that have developed bipedalism. This is a surprise, because walking on 2 legs vs. walking on 4 legs is very disadvantageous. It’s slower, unstable, our organs are vulnerable to damage.

One theory is that if our habitat was flooded, we’d have to walk on two legs to keep our heads above the water.

The only animal who has ever evolved a pelvis like ours, the swamp ape, used this method.

BREATHING

We have conscious control over our breathing. Ever other land animal doesn’t. Mammals like dolphins and seals also conscious control because it tells them how deep they are going to dive and they can estimate how much air they need to inhale.

OTHER DIFFERENCES

Our body is so wasteful of salt and water. Think of tears and our way of sweating. Other land mammals don’t have this. Water mammals do however.

Okay anyway I hope you learned something.

So. Basically. We were FUCKING MERMAIDS. Damn.

I mainly want to believe this is correct so I can be descended from mermaids

Also! we’re pruny. we have a better grip on submerged objects when our fingertips are pruny. ah wow theories,

the world is incredible. there are girls in this world, and there are also dogs. you can put melted cheese on any type of potato.  sometimes flowers grow even when nobody is there to water them. right now on this same planet where we live there are people who are in love with each other kissing each other on the nose. emotions and colours are both things that exist. everything is so great

i needed this, thank you.

Being a gay man makes you an oppressor?? Well fuck me?! Looks like George Takei and Elton are actually evil!!

Because Gay Men would totally have an interest in women!

Feminists being homophobic? You don’t say!
-Indigo

Actually this IS an issue. There are gay men who think that just by being gay they have a free pass to touch women wherever it however they want.
My fiancé once put a dude through a window because he was groping girls and when they would complain he would make the excuse that he was gay so they shouldn’t be uncomfortable.

Gay men do this a lot and it IS. NOT. OK.

Gay men are literally some of the most misogynist people I know. There is absolutely nothing “homophobic” about calling this shit out. (But what else do you expect from an anti-SJ blog?)

When I was in high school an older gay male student who was a member of an extracurricular threatre troupe I was part of cornered me in an empty classroom and grinded up on me, rubbing his erect penis against my thigh through his pants, and refused to let me up when I asked him to until someone else came in the room and made him let me go. When I accused him of sexual harrassment he claimed it was physically impossible for him to harrass me that way because he was gay (everyone must have believed him too, because he never got in trouble).
In college there was a trend amongst the gay males in our LGBTQ+ club space to approach the female identified folk while they were least expecting it and pinch their nipples hard through their t-shirts. This was done to me on several occasions by several different gay men and was terribly startling and incredibly painful each time. They would not stop when asked to claiming it was not sexual harrassment because they were not attracted to the women they were obviously harrassing, it was all just teasing, just a bit of good clean fun. During the two years I spent in and out of that club space I also had my breasts and ass groped on a regular basis, something that was completely normalized in that space, and had a gay man try and swipe my genitals through my jeans against my will once.
So, gay men can most definitely be oppressors. Gay men can most definitely be misogynistic. Gay men can be just as dangerous to women as straight men are, and there is absolutely nothing homophobic about calling that shit the fuck out when it happens and letting them know in no uncertain terms that being gay does not give a man carte blanche to touch a woman’s body however he wants.

#gay men: the original men lite (tm)#where do u think trans men learned it from (x)

There’s a cis gay student at my school who always makes lewd comments to all the girls around him or will stroke their arm and when they say they’re uncomfortable he’ll cite that they should be because he’s gay.
I have also had my ass grabbed by him and by another cis gay male student on multiple occasions and when I tell them not to he says I shouldn’t be mad because he’s gay.

Gay men think they can do this:
And then immediately follow it up with “it’s okay though because I’m gay”
No. It’s not. It’s NOT okay because they’re gay. Your sexuality doesn’t give you a free pass to be a raging misogynist.
Gay men think they can get away with misogyny because they’re not attracted to women. That’s not how it works.
Also, friendly reminder that gay men also consistently get away with transphobia, biphobia, and racism (gee, I wonder which group of white people steals AAVE the MOST? I’ll give you a hint, it’s the gay men community.)
Gay men may not have straight privilege, but guess what they do have?? GASP—MALE PRIVILEGE. Fucking duh. They have just as much capability to be sexist as straight men, and we shouldn’t overlook it just because they’re gay. (or bi or pan, for that matter)

If you think being gay means you’re not part of the problem, YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM.

A gay guy in my drama class would always comment on my friend and I’d breasts. But it didn’t matter because he was gay.

So, I had a guy hand me his number today and he followed it with, "I mean no disrespect, but here—"

I told him I was flattered but had a long term, serious girlfriend, who I loved very much.

To which he responded, still pleasant and with polite interest,  ”She’s a lucky woman. How long have you been together?”

THAT is how you approach/handle a ‘no’, boys. take fucking notes.
